Our freestanding string light rental creates warm overhead lighting in areas where there are no trees, tents, buildings or permanent mounting points available.
Tall poles secured to heavy weighted bases support warm-white café-style string lights above lawns, patios, courtyards and other outdoor event spaces. The system works especially well above dining tables, dance floors, cocktail areas and the main spaces where guests will gather after dark.
No attachment to the venue is required, and the support poles do not need to be staked into the ground.

Your lighting footage is calculated using the combined length of every string light run included in the approved layout.

Linear footage is not the same as the square footage of the event area. A 20′ x 40′ space may require several separate lighting runs depending on the layout and desired coverage.

A freestanding string light rental is well suited to:
String lights provide warm ambient lighting and help define the main event area after dark.
They may not provide sufficient functional lighting for pathways, stairs, parking areas, catering workspaces, emergency routes or other areas requiring brighter task or safety lighting.
The installation area must be firm, reasonably level and accessible to our delivery and installation crew.
Suitable surfaces may include:
Soft, muddy, waterlogged, steep or uneven surfaces may not be suitable.
Each weighted base remains visible and requires clear, level space. Bases cannot block:

Outdoor string light installations remain weather-dependent.
High winds, severe rain, standing water, saturated ground or other unsafe conditions may require the setup to be changed, delayed, switched off or removed.
The final installation and operating decision will be based on actual site and weather conditions. Safety takes priority over the original layout.
Delivery and professional installation are required and are not included in the posted per-linear-foot price unless specifically stated in your quote.
Service is available across Metro Vancouver and nearby Lower Mainland communities, including Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Delta, Langley, Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver and West Vancouver.
Service to Abbotsford and other Fraser Valley areas may also be available.

For lights installed directly inside one of our marquee tents, use our separate marquee tent string lighting packages.
Tent lighting attaches directly to the marquee frame and is priced according to the tent size. It does not require freestanding weighted poles.
The posted product price is charged per linear foot of string lighting. It does not represent the total installed project cost.
